| Ok, i know the farang bars in Udon are good for a fry up or a sunday roast but... I just do not see how they could ever seriously compete as watering holes compared to the great Thai bars and all the bars at the night market... Where do you prefer to drink and why? Personally id take the night market, big TV's and a band anyday over a pint of imported guiness... | |

| Udon has about half a million Thais and 6000 Falangs that is the largest Falang Cheap Charlie population in all of Thailand.
Some of these guys open up bars and restaurants, then charge 3-4 times the amount of what Thai establishments offer for the same meals and beer.
Also the Thais here can cook better Falang meals than the Falangs.

| Hi,
Irish Clock, Nobies, Harry's are good places for eats, but that is really it. The others keep coming and going. Shame really, so few never make it here in the restaurant biz. The others places like Mojos, only stay open because they keep giving themselves stimulus capital out of retirement or savings just to stay afloat with no profit.
Once UD Town or Center is complete, the newer Thai restaurants serving western food will just stomp a new mud hole in the remaining Farang shops. Foreigners here will never have the inside scoop like the Thais do, and most likely, the Westerners fail, because they listen to business advise from their wives or girlfriends.
They get doubled scammed from the marriage, then the bar or restaurant investment. Lose, lose situation.

| Moo, Ah,ha, and so true. I hope the Thai entrepreneurs prevail. They already are, and fantastic. Thai people are what make Udonthani what it is today, not farangs. It's a great city, and 100% made in Thailand. | |
