The Kumphawapi Sugar Co., Ltd.

The Kumphawapi Sugar Co., Ltd. was founded in 1963 as an "Economic Cooperation Model" under the formal consent of the Thai and Japanese governments by Mitsui Sugar Co., Ltd. together with Mitsui & Co., Ltd. as well as other partners who provided capital and management assistance.
For the past 40 years, the company has been a strong contributor to the development of Thailand’s Northeast as it has worked to modernize the sugar industry and contribute to social development in this region.

In agricultural development, the Kumphawapi has promoted research and development programs for the improvement of sugarcane cultivation, introduced of new and superior sugarcane types and growing methods, and extended financial support to sugarcane growers.

Currently, around 70% of Kumphawapi’s products are exported; raw sugar being first, followed by molasses. The company’s main export markets are Africa, Asia Pacific, Southeast
