This is too easy.
I had a Kindle, like you, and it does suck. I also gave it away as a gift, then the problems had arisen. It's not cool to give a piece a crap as a present.
1. It doesn't matter that it has a 1 month battery life going on, cuz it's useless for anything else, and if you have a months time to read books, then you simply have no job, or a bored retiree waiting for death. The net is fine, but so what. My phone does much better in any country. 2. iPhone, or any other modern smart phone can do what this does and it does it yesterday 3. It looks 80's, feels cheap, and is cheap. Total manufacturing cost is most likely 30 USD tops. 4. Dedicated E-Book, so what. My iPhone did this way back, and a better screen to view. 5. So, at the end end of the day, I would carry an E-Book specific, large piece of crap, with a useless black and white screen, that my Mobile Phone can already do better, in a smaller package. 6. I can have any e-books all day long on my 60" monitor if I choose.
Simple, I give it 10 hammer smashes out of 10
